ヴェルサイユ宮殿
The Château de Versailles was the principal residence of the French kings from Louis XIV to Louis XVI and is recognized worldwide for its opulence and history. Originally a hunting lodge, Louis XIV moved his court there in 1682, making it the center of the French royal family; since 1883, it has been a national museum open to the public, along with its magnificent gardens, and in 1979 it became France’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Palace of Versailles will welcome the 2024 Paris Olympics in its beautiful gardens. A temporary outdoor arena will be set up in the Place des Étoiles Royales, on the west side of the Grand Canal in the heart of the palace gardens. This arena will host two equestrian events (dressage test and jumping), as well as jumping and dressage competitions (Olympic and Paralympic).1 The individual and team event cross-country divisions will be held along the Grand Canal, and all pentathlon events will also be held at the Palace of Versailles.
The Palace of Versailles will also offer a special program in conjunction with the equestrian events of the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics. As part of the program, a major exhibition focusing on horses and equestrian culture in Western culture will be held from July 2 to November 3, 2024. The exhibition will feature more than 400 works of art, many of which will be on public display in France for the first time.
Château de Versailles（ヴェルサイユ宮殿）は、フランスのルイ14世からルイ16世までのフランス王の主要な居住地で、その豪華さと歴史で世界的に認知されています。元々は狩猟用の小屋でしたが、ルイ14世が1682年に宮廷を移転させ、フランス王室の中心地となりました。1883年からは、その壮大な庭園とともに、一般公開される国立博物館となり、1979年にはフランスで最初にユネスコの世界遺産に登録されました。
2024年のパリオリンピックにおいて、ヴェルサイユ宮殿は、その美しい庭園でオリンピックを迎える予定です。一時的な屋外アリーナが、宮殿の庭の中心部にあるグランド・カナルの西側、エトワール・ロワイヤル広場に設けられます。このアリーナでは、馬術の2つのイベント（ドレッサージュテストとジャンピング）、ジャンピングとドレッサージュの競技（オリンピックとパラリンピック）が行われます1。個々とチームのイベントクロスカントリー部門はグランド・カナル沿いで開催され、五種競技の全てのイベントもヴェルサイユ宮殿で開催されます。
また、ヴェルサイユ宮殿は、2024年のパリオリンピックとパラリンピックの馬術競技に合わせて、特別なプログラムを提供する予定です。その一環として、2024年7月2日から11月3日まで、西洋文化における馬と馬術文化に焦点を当てた大規模な展覧会が開催されます。この展覧会では、400以上の作品が展示され、その多くがフランスで初めて公開されます。
